Xanto to me is borderline red. I would put it #3 or #4 on the scale. I really don't like that color.

I mixed up the colors on the scale, for the borealis and atlas, I edited my post to reflect the proper numbers.

I regret giving them donuts 🍩 🍩 🍩! Not really I got to test out an Aventador.

Hahaha 🤣 Thank's Sakura for the tip, Never underestimate the power of doughnuts

Now my quote :

"You aim to cheat the devil, you make him an offering"

The dealer said there was an insurance claim. The 124K accident claim to do repairs and replace parts. I got the shop estimate for the repairs. I also have the shop's invoice which included a new bumper... Check the pictures below if you can spot a new bumper!
They did not disclose it was a consignment car right away.
The car was severely neglected, Missing all bolts holding the tub in the frunk, 1 engine trim panel not even screwed. The tub was full of pet hairs, dirty carpets, dirty engine trim.
Sluggish gear shifts.
I was told the PPF was done in 2022 when he bought it, but there was dirt under the corners. With only 1900 km from the his new ownership, I don't believe this.
The check engine light was on when I turned it on. With a scan tool I found they had cleared the engine codes 65 km prior to my visit (8 of those was my test drive),
The seller stated 3 oil changes so that means he changed the oil every 633 km. Doesn't make sense.
When inquired about the check engine codes the seller stated it might be due to straight pipes. That also didn't make sense because the car wasn't loud and he didn't disclose this earlier.
I was told I'd get service records during his ownership, never got them.
Only one key

I made an offer reflecting this awfully neglected car and the salesman said he wouldn't even present it to the seller. He also said if he could buy them at my price offer he'd buy 15 of them. Then he said if he could get it at X amount he would cut him a check right away for his inventory.
He gave zero F abouts all the issues I said and he didn't want to hear about it. He also didn't want to hear about the comparables that had more options, clean Carfax and no issues.

This is what you get for a 124K repair claim for a hole in the bumper, a crack on the trim below and the 3rd brake light cracked and a few other things.

This is the repair, crack still there and body filler where you see drill marks :

This is allegedly a new bumper

3rd brake light is cracked, this is what you get...some clear tape

All tub bolts in the bag, why you need to access the battery frequently?

Codes cleared 65 km (-8 km test drive) prior to my visit

At least I know what an Aventador feels like to drive. The Huracan is the better car in my opinion. You mainly buy the Aventador for the looks, scissor doors and V12 sound. The A looks a lot better than the Huracan. The Huracan also sounds very good with the crackles and pops.

AV is butt heavy for sure. Not the nimble type at all. It feels like driving a fast brick with a big butt that wiggles every time you brake hard into a corner. The SVJ behaves better with less butt shake and turns tighter, but it is still a heavy beast. At least it looks like a supermodel while doing it.

That car you test drove is one step away from the salvage auction lot. You dodged a bullet, maybe even a missile. A better one will show up.

The A felt so sluggish from a full stop, the gear shift lurched at low speed it was terrible. When I tried to back up I thought the car was broken, I pressed on the gas and it stayed stationary, I had to press the pedal hard, a lot more than the H to move. Oh yeah it didn't brake fast as the H, you really need more space to slow down and press harder on the pedal.

On the flip side the exterior was so beautiful. I'll keep looking for deals just for fun.

I dodged an RPG. My low offer was to repair whatever issue that would of been found on a PPI and having the burden of the bad carfax with the insurance fraud. Too bad they were so damn greedy, One of two things is going to happen to that car, some sucker will pay full price or it'll go in the hands of organised crime who has dirty money to dump.

I dodged a bullet, the offer in an analogy was to repack that bullet. A cushion to repair whatever issue would of been found on a PPI and having the burden of the bad carfax with the insurance fraud. Too bad they were so damn greedy, One of two things is going to that car, some sucker will pay full price or it'll go in the hands of organised crime owner who has money to dump.

It got me thinking would a body kit look nice on an LP610-4?

I am sure the CEL will stay on forever, no matter what you do, even after piles of repairs and putting everything back to stock. The proper fix probably needs a certified dealer to do it right and that means serious money. Think three or four times the repair estimate. The CEL will still sit there and laugh at you. The car will not drive normally, no matter what the seller claims about it having no effect.

That orange Aventador saddened me all day. I would of bought it at a fair price if the dealer and seller weren't greedy scammers, without the insurance fraud and horrible neglect. So crazy they want a buyer paying full msrp for an 11 year old car.

Mint M67 Signature Edition grenade. Aged in a horse sack for years to enhance flavor. Zero inspection. Full price only. May detonate on contact. Good luck.
(Only a metaphor but you get the point.)

I was pondering on and off, what kind of in your face scam that was. The salesman was believing his own lies. It confused me!

The poor sap who thinks he's going to ride a rocket only to set his a$$ on fire.

If that car in its current condition goes to auction with an estimate of 330k to 360k, I am confident it would receive zero bids. Buyers can see the risk clearly and will not bid because the price is far too high compared to the potential issues.

I have seen the same situation many times like in violin auctions. A well-known maker appears, the auction house places a high estimate, but the condition is below average and the certificate of authenticity is old or questionable. In those cases nobody bids. Usually only a dealer steps in once the price has dropped significantly, because dealers are willing to take on the risk. They have access to skilled luthiers for repairs and know how to obtain more reliable certification in hopes of increasing the value. The funny part is that after the dealer attempts a repair and gets a better certificate, the violin goes back to auction and again receives no attention. It keeps circulating until it is heavily discounted and eventually picked up again by another dealer. The cycle repeats itself.

This car is exactly that. It is in poor shape, clearly neglected, and modified in questionable ways that caused repeated permanent CELs. Straight pipes, running rich just to shoot flames, possibly burned sensors and other components. Only a dealer would buy a car like this, and only at a substantially lower price. And once the cycle repeats, the car ends up in salvage yard for parts.

Speaking of flames, I just remembered the kid while I was driving told me at one point when I downshifted the car would shoot flames and he liked to play with it to make it sing. A stock car would not shoot flames it would fail so many regulations. That implies the kid went to pick it up from the seller on many occasions to display the car to potential buyers. I wonder how many people went to see it and turned away.

The reviews of the dealer raised a red flag for me when I started my research, only 2 bad reviews out of 132 and they are within the last 5 months. I have a suspicion the reviewers were eventually forced to remove them. It's improbable I would be the only 3rd guy who was deceived.

Just for fun continuing on my detective work, the collision happened in late November so it might have happened in storage. It must of hit pretty hard because there are rubbing marks on the hood and engine trim. The brackets or frame must of lifted. The rubber hood tabs were not readjusted to prevent the hood from rubbing there.

@Rampante21 When you start looking at Huracans for sale take lots of pictures so you can examine them at home because you will miss a lot of details on the lot. You will be too excited to notice and with price tags like these you don't want to be disappointed or fooled after paying for it . The kid was talking to me about unrelated things deviating my attention, so I straight up told him, I'll be there a long time taking pictures, he got the message. I have a habit of taking so many pictures I didn't really admire it from afar, I was focused on my inspection. I took 630 pictures of this car, the majority are close ups like these. Also bring a very good scan scan tool, not only check the codes in all ECUs (3 on the Huracan and 2 on the Aventador) but you need to check live data while the engine is running, take pictures of each page. I should of brought my beter scan tool but I used theirs,

"The Devil is in the details" quite literally.

You can see overspray, another proof they didn't replace it, they didn't take the bumper off to fix it and paint.

So the car took hits from the front and the back and its insides look like they want to escape. They drove the car into a trash compactor. It would take a huge impact to bend carbon fiber like that, to the point even the bolts cannot keep it in place. I'm pretty sure the frame is bent somewhat and PPI won't pass.

Only the rear took a hit. The loose trim bolts, someone wasn't patient enough to screw them in properly.

Even pet hair in the armrest console, no pride in keeping this car clean.
