Thanks for the add! After a terrible 14 months with (and without for 4 of those months) a McLaren Artura, I threw in the towel. Loved the drive of the Artura and it was crazy fast, but it couldn’t stay out of the shop.

My Lambo just works…. I love it. If only I bought it a year ago. Would have saved me some hair on my head!

Welcome to the Forum, great choice, the last V10.

Don't tell me Maclaren live up to their unreliable reputation?

Electrical faults. Every time I’d start the car, I would be worried if another fault would occur. First it was parking sensors, then, a problem with the door release, then hybrid battery faults, then power coordinator faults. I can go on. Hose clamps weren’t tight - they had to remove the hybrid battery and the gas tank. Etc, etc.

I live in Sarasota, FL. The closest McLaren dealership was Dimmitt Tampa. Each time the car would go into service, it would take them 1-2 weeks before they would even look at it. Then it was waiting to hear from McLaren what to take apart next, then ordering parts from England.

I finally threw in the towel.

No problems now. Just a fun Evo Spyder to drive! Glad I made the switch.

I always wonder if dealers lowball you when returning a problem car. How much money do you lose?

So, I bought the car from my local lamborghini dealership and then sold it back. I lost $30k on the price of the car + tax + full PPFx2 (first guy that wrapped the car did such a bad job I had to have another company remove the entire wrap and redo it. Probably lost a total of $50k through the whole process. However, I live in FL and drive 6 miles a day to work, so it is my daily driver. $50k is a lot to loose, but a small price to pay for happiness and no more stress about whether I’m going to get into the car and it won’t start, etc.

The good thing about money is you can always make more. These cars should be a source of happiness, stress relief, excitement, etc. not another problem in one’s life.

I’m happy I moved on. I will make back the $50k.

Oh that sucks big time, losing that much hurts depending on your income in making it back. That's one of the factors for me not to jump in and buy an Aventador. I'm glad I have an LP-610, it's been mostly great but it's not without common issues as people claim.
