I heard on the new this evening, a driver of a mini van and a videographer in the back tied with a harness had decided to open the rear hatch to record sports cars on the highway. I alway knew some idiots would copy what is done in the states without checking local laws. The driver learned the hard way, over 2-3K in fines and charged with multiple offences, car seized and driver's licence suspended for 1 year. Imagine having to take the bus from now on to go to work and in some trades that means you'll be spending half your pay check or more in taxi rides. His insurance will explode after that.

The videographer only got a safety belt ticket!

Pretty dangerous to do it on public highway, even with the straps and all. Too many unknown factors beyond control. They should rent a racetrack or abandoned strips.

I'm the one who's planning a pleasure drive for 30+ Ferraris and other fast Italian cars. I went up a forest park to go see the lookout high in the hills that overlooks fields and river providing a great view. I went there to plan the route, to check the pavement etc, the hindrance of cyclist on this narrow road without any shoulder. I parked the car at the parking lot for a few minutes to check out the scenery and check the map, the road is a dead end but I noticed several cars and 2-3 motorcycle riders in racing suits come back a second time and park. That place seems like a popular place for souped up cars, other sports cars and a plethora of bikes to go out for a ride over there.

I started the car and I saw lots of people gathering up ahead getting their phones out to take pictures, at least a dozen. They had a glimpse of a single car unbeknownst there will be a ton more in a few weeks.

Man imagine the attention an Aventador or Murci or even the newer Temerario or Revuelto would get if the people in your town are going crazy over a Huracan. Must not be a lot of exotics where you live? My car hardly gets a second glance in the big city. But as we talked about before, color also plays a big factor. If mine was bright orange I'm sure I'd be getting harassed too! I still remember that story I shared about the yellow Gallardo stealing the show.

Be sure to share some pics of this big event. Sounds like it'll be a good time. Looking forward to seeing them even if it's going to be mostly Ferrari's ;)

An Aventador or even an STO they would go nuts! About the temerario at cars and coffee it didn't get much attention, the orange Revuelto got most of it. I don't even recount every things that happen when I go for a drive, the other day a guy runs to my cracked window with less than a 2" gap , his mouth near the gap exclaiming it was the most beautiful car he's ever seen.

As for exotics they are out there but you have to know the hotspots and be lucky to spot them in the evening. Especially the Ferraris which are garage kept 360 days a year so they are a rare sight. This year C8's are the prevailing cars on the road, next Porsches then Huracans. I see many Huracan's but I bet most people do not as they are not actively aware of their surroundings like I am. While going to a client this morning in a construction contractor's lot I saw a Urus, a modern Ferrari and an older orange Mac.

About 3 years ago in the Vette I was following a black Huracan on a monday evening for several blocks, no one ever noticed us, I mean no one. Sunday evening to Thursday I noticed people are mainly in their bubble lost in neander, when the weekend is up people are cheerful and notice more what's going on.

Still tonight I ended up behind a police SUV patrolling the hills so I stopped at a mini golf parking lot to lose sight of him as I had a feeling he/she was up to no good because he was slowing way down in front of me. I also needed to check out the map but the cop stopped ahead on the shoulder. I wonder if he was waiting for me to get back on the road to profile me. Some teens came up to my window, one guy asked what was the mileage on the car and he said not bad when I told him. I asked him is that was any good? He didn't answer. The next one asked if I wanted to trade for his mountain bike. I replied back in the day I had one too. I guess the cop got tired of waiting for me so he took off.

As for the event I made a thread of last year's weekend. The one in 2024 I had to delete because of a stalker on the other forum.

Speaking of color, when I was researching on Lambo I was truly disappointed in the Huracans for sale as they were either white, black and red. I didn't really like the overall shape of the car compared to the Aventador, I didn't have any interest in spending that much on a car that really excite me. I looked at other brands too.

That all changed when I started seeing orange ones on the net.

The Aventador always looked so bulky to me and overly angular. And the single clutch transmission is a negative compared to the robust and smooth shifting DCT on the Huracan. But they have grown on me over time due to the epic v12 sound and being a more raw, impractical Lambo. I don't really love the base model Aventadors, but the more aggressive variants like the SVJ are intriguing. If I came across a black SVJ coupe with orange accents I would be very tempted. They look great from the back

I agree the base Aventador isn't extraordinarily good looking especially the front bumper, looks bulbous like some type of boat. I was also surprised how much the Huracan was such a sharper driving car. I was disappointed driving it wasn't great.

I loved the atlas color and overall shape which is more bold than the H, it was somewhat affordable if it wasn't for being scam.

The SV and SVG are better looking cars but out of reach.

Another disappointment for me, the exhaust sound is for those outside listening but not the driver. Inside the cabin I didn't hear much compared to my loud car.

It's bittersweet liking the shape, the scissor doors and the V12 but not liking how it drives.

Sadly The murci was the last lambo with scissors doors.

The Murci is a better looking car than the Aventador to my eye. I love the smooth curves on it. Similarly well designed as the original Audi R8. But they're getting older and more elusive to find a clean example. But a gated Murci with that V12 would be amazing.

I went out tonight to finalize the Ferrari ride but I took a detour to go at the lookout for the view. I didn't think of taking pictures there, I walked back to the car and a group of fast motorcycles arrived and parked at the lookout, there were at least a dozen of them. On my way out the group beside their bikes were watching me crawl along, I saw this woman bike rider with a smile pointing me to park alongside them while holding her phone in the other. I didn't stop and saw the look of disappointment in her face. Nope I'm a little elusive.

This afternoon while at a red light an old man had a thumb down for me and saying several times "Yuck" while motioning more thumb down. A teenage girl 15 feet in front of him shouted "nice car!"

The old guy still stammering "Yuck, yuck" I gave him the tongue. :p:p

I decided to take the G to go grab our takeout order from the local Japanese Steak house (don't get excited Sakura, it is a name only because us idiot americans think it will be better than a Chinese place) and as I parked, a guy in a jeep parked and was getting out. First thing he said was 'How much does one of those cost???' I've never gotten that question before which is crazy because I hear people say they do all the time. I said 'I'm a poor, it has a salvage title, so not much' He said, 'well, it looks nice' I said thanks. I was excited because my order wasn't ready so I drank some sake while I waited.

The main question I get asked is "what do I do for a living", I get this so often probably over 15 times each year. I'm a little tired of this one but many times I say I do dirty jobs no one else wants to do. What would be fun is to make business cards with my Luzifer avatar on one side and coffins for sale on the other, I would hand them out when they ask this question. :p

The second most asked question is "How much does it cost", probably 5-10 times every year. I haven't told anyone a straight answer on this one. I usually say there's too many variables like options and model. If I did say a price do you give out what the original owner paid for including taxes, or give out what the average price on the used market.

I always wanted an elegant white card, raised ink - my name on one side, QR code to my linkedin, and "Difficult Problems Solved" on the other. Gothic script...

Japanese steakhouse, like teppanyaki? The kind where the chef cooks right in front of you and does all the tricks with the spatulas, onion volcanoes, flying shrimp, and so on?

Over here, those places are usually pretty upscale and can get quite expensive. I think the last time I went to one was about 7–8 years ago, before covid. I normally eat fairly light meals to keep my diet in check, but that place kept bringing food until I could barely walk afterward. Sake sounds delicious too. :)

Exactly. They/we call it Hibachi. Here it is not cheap, but it is not over the top. They also do pretty good (by american small town standards) sushi. Definitely pretty full if we eat there. The take-out portions seem to be smaller.

I went to fill the car with gas, a very rough looking guy probably living on the streets, shouted "Roar roar I have a small dick, roar roar I have a small dick." I burst out laughing and clapping. He looked frustrated and upset when he saw me laugh and gave him two thumbs up for the finale. I chuckled for 2 more blocks.

That was a good response from you by giving him thumbs up and laughing.

I always wonder why people invite problems on the road when they could not stand up to the consequences. Just last week, a black Prius tailgated and cutting me off, while I was driving my minivan. I drove responsibly around the traffic speed and minding my own business. I lined up next to him on the traffic light and looked at him to see what his problem was. I had never seen a guy looked down and hid so fast from the window, after he saw me. When the lights turned green, he suddenly drove like on a death bed, slow and dismissive. Most assholes are like this, try to look hard ass, but all tofu on the inside.
