Huracan STO Production Numbers

Its always been a bit of a mystery with Huracan production numbers, especially once you get into the special variants. That number does sound about right though, they produced quite a few STO's over several model years. I've always read that the number of Performante's produced is something like 1800-2000 worldwide over the two years it was in production. Why is it so difficult to get precise stats from Lamborghini?

They hide the production numbers so their customers think it is a rare model and will pay top dollar.
A good example is in the music business. They will produce a regular album, then after a while they will produce the same album (vynil) in a different color in a limited quantity but triple the price. They will do this limited edition in another color until fans get tired of buying the same thing figuring out the money grabbing scheme.

I guess that's the same concept with professional sports teams releasing new jerseys every year. All the 'third' or 'alternate' or 'throwback' jerseys NHL teams wear over the course of the season comes to mind. Easy money grab to keep selling new jerseys to the fans.
