:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: I love it! Thanks for sharing the video!

That was definitely a robber or car thieves. Nobody would ever approach someone in a pitch black with good intentions.

Luzifer, you often find many interesting videos :)

That car is a one way ticket to hell. That reattached frame couldn’t possibly hold together for long :ROFLMAO:

The frame bits in the video are mostly for body panels and a few parts, they don't have to be extra sturdy for that. On the other hand, even if they did their best it will always be considered shoddy repair.

I did learn a few useful tips like using a small spray gun for small parts or tight area and I didn't even know you could braze aluminum like that.

I'm more concerned about whether the car still drives straight after that kind of impact. They tried fixing the rear frame, but the main frame might already be bent. I’ve seen plenty of garages in Southeast Asia fix everything with just a hammer LOL.

You are correct the main frame is surely bent. Very likely the tires are going to wear out in a matter of weeks and the car abandoned soon.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this. The man has a very good point that the price to repair the Gallardo is not worth the resale value. Is that one of a few reasons I no longer see Gallardos in my area?

The snippet starts at 9 : 23

I noticed this too, Gallardos are missing from the road. Even during parade, I rarely see them anymore.

It’s the single clutch. Low reliability and expensive to replace. For a flagship car without scissor doors, people tend to switch to newer models that are more reliable, or switch to AV for the same hassle but with scissor doors.

I think this model has gone to 3rd world countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, etc where cheap labor exist and refurbished Chinese crap are commonly used.

I'm thinking many cars depreciate in value and some who have less money buy them but unable to afford repairs when they break down. They might leave it outside like this one near me where it spent 2 full years outside, rain, sun and snow. It is gone now, probably stripped for parts.

I think all these expensive supercars are pocket burners, LOL. I can tell from the amount of money I have spent over the years on maintenance. Mine does not break, but I still spend money on new parts to keep it from breaking. I like keeping it fresh, and I enjoy the feel of the engine when it has new parts. I can tell the difference from my butt dyno.

In my opinion, I think it is not really about whether the owner can afford it or not. People only retain their older cars if they have emotional value to them. Most people prefer "newer" cars, which is why the automotive industry keeps producing new models every day to boost profits. Also, some people really lease their supercar, so when the time comes, they have the option to change to newer models.

What I meant was when a car depreciates substantially and it is sold, the price becomes attainable to those who couldn't afford a new or relatively new vehicle. Sometimes those who buy them might not realize the price of parts where they can't afford or want to repair it when the car breaks down. In turn they might sit for years broken.

An interesting short clip on Titanium exhausts. Non Lambo specific.

Ah I got you. Yep, those usually end up in the junkyard as organ donors. Pretty sad. But a lucky few get stashed away in someone's barn and magically become the barn find of the century once the car turns rare :ROFLMAO:

Very interesting video about titanium. I looked it up and did some research. Fortunately, the titanium exhaust for the Lambo (including Akrapovic) uses Grade 5 titanium, which will not become brittle. It is the same grade used in aerospace and F1 applications. Just avoid the ones made in China, especially those found on eBay, as they usually use Grade 2 titanium, which is softer and cheaper.

I noticed at the event a few weeks ago that my car with sports exhaust was the loudest compared to the other Hs. I found it quite interesting especially when upshifting it had more snap than all the others. I quite content with my stock exhaust.

I have the titanium one that came with the car. I do not think mine improves anything. It seems to be more about the look. On paper, it is said that the grade 5 Ti gives brighter 'ting' sound, but it's really hard to tell the difference with normal ear drums. You are not missing anything if you have the stock stainless.

On the other hand, the Akra on the EVO was the most noticeable to me. I test drove two Hs, one with the Akra and one without, and the difference in loudness was like night and day. The Akra completely outperformed the others when it came to pops and volume. I drooled at it so much I almost pulled the trigger on the car, but in the end, I did not. Someone else bought the car a couple of weeks later. Oh well.

If you have titanium, did it come from factory like that, or the dealer put it on?

I think it was a factory option. I didn’t choose it though, as it was already installed like that on dealer floor.
