What a week end!

I had planned the route for the Ferrari club and was told to use google map for way points. I knew that map system was complete trash but it was short notice and my hands were tied. The other organizer said aloud for everyone to hear if I was planning to go fast and I replied yes because I was appointed leader of the pack. Can you believe it a Lambo as leader of the F group. :p
When we got to the bridge it was closed for construction so it completely screwed up the map, I took another route and the map kept wanting to back track to the unreacheable waypoint and there wasn’t any way to ignore it. We lost a few drivers who got fed up turning in circles.

I continued on with 4 cars in tow, I got on the highway where there was only forest on both sides and kept seeing them going so damn slow, I just couldn’t believe it, they looked like they were under the speed limit. I slowed down, on the way back there was an on ramp I did a very easy pull and almost lost sight of them. When we got back a dude in a V12 came up to me clearly upset saying ” too fast too fast, it’s supposed to be a pleasure drive!”. He kept chewing my a$$, I couldn’t believe it, I barely went faster than regular traffic, what’s the point of owning these cars and going slower than regular traffic? Then he tried to tone down saying nice car but but annoyed the H was "farting" a lot and I must have a tune, I said no it's the factory race exhaust but he didn't believe it.

The green Huracan belongs to the Ex Ferrari club president, last year he wanted to take his Lambo but he couldn't as it would of looked bad but this year no longer the president he took it out and exclaimed, "Fock Ferrari... Lamborghini !!"

At lunch an older woman with visibly lumpy botox and over smeared red lipstick was complaining to another woman “I feel so sick” while rubbing her stomach, the other woman asked why, “The orange car was going too fast.” It was his damn wife!

The woman who had listened to the nonsense came to me with her husband to have lunch and she also found it a little crazy as they liked the ride. Her husband explained he had just bought his 458 last September and he was asking a lot of questions. He wanted to know where I had my car fixed because his previous Maserati the dealer screwed him over big time doing unnecessary repairs while damaging his leather interior. I replied I fixed my vehicles myself. His retort wishing he could do the same “it must be nice”. I asked him if he took his car out a lot and he replied, “I don’t know what to do with it.” I gave him tips on all the cool day trips he could do, the things things to see and do. Just go out driving that’s what they're for!

We had the parade and fast laps on a closed off loop. The SVJ stole the show, it sounded so damn good and he did a lap with doors up, it was really cool. I want one!

Many loved the orange H, getting their family picture taken with it.

During the parade I a few comments were directed towards me :

A chick said, "give me a ride!"
A guy said aloud "Happy Halloween!"
I saw several people dressed in orange and loving it, check out the kid on the right.

I went back to my car and the other orange Huracan showed up to park beside me to have a chat, he was friendly at first but soon his demeanor changed. He said he had the car only for 4 months and was already trying to sell it stating he wanted to buy 2 houses. I found his story strange, a guy in his twenties, for sure it was the family’s money who paid for that car. His true colors showed up half an hour later when I parked for the car show, when he also joined the line up. The entire event isn’t free, it cost us several hundreds of dollars to participate but he weaseled in without paying.

I didn't want that to spoil my evening I put it behind me. The Ferrari guys and their wives went to the award banquet dinner, I dislike those 5 course meals sitting 4 hours being bored out of my mind. I walked the street with the crowd enjoying the festivities. I settled for some Pakistani food. It looked like no one dared to eat at that restaurant so I had the terrace to myself, it was the best butter chicken I ever had, it didn’t taste like the Indian style, it was so good I will go again soon, the salad was spicy but excellent.

All the terraces close to the car were jammed packed and my feet were getting sore from standing but the sushi place was completely empty so I sat there with front row seat while I enjoyed a crispy banana with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

It was cool to see people look at the cars. I grabbed a few shots of those who liked the display. One guy said, "Cars, on cars."
Take a look at the woman being a little cross at the guy's reaction who's fully enjoying the display, probably not happy she wasn't having all the attention from men.

A few teens came to me to chat about cars, a teenager approached me, she confided she had an orange Lego Huracan at home. I didn’t know some girls were into Lego cars! I also met the owner of the blue Huracan and we had a great discussion about our respective businesses, some crazy clients and other things.

Whoa, looks like you had a great time! Your car and mini car display stole the show for sure :) That was a great touch, and if I had been there, I definitely would’ve taken a photo too!

Last year's model sure made an impact, a Lambo owner and a Ferrari owner mentioned it. They didn't see this year's display. There's a Cars and Coffee next month, I'll bring it out again.

The SVJ always had a bunch of people mesmerized by it and when he revved it people were like famished zombies drawn to the sounds. There was also a guy with a modified Ferrari who'd came back from gumball, that thing was also very loud.

What a cool event. Looks like it was a blast for owners and spectators.

If you ever feel like making the pilgrimage down to WI there are a lot of 'spirited' drives on our endless backroads. I'd gladly get you connected.
