How can they buy a Lambo but can't really afford it?

It always perplexed me those who are in a Lambo and couple months later are carless, for example some youtubers or even local people around. I wonder how for example a dealer sells or leases a car to someone and a few months later the person gets rid of the car. What are the criteria to allow someone to leave the showroom with such an expensive car? Why didn't the dealer foresee this?

Some dealers focus solely on achieving high sales numbers, as these can earn them kickbacks from the manufacturer. They prioritize selling to as many people as possible, even inflating sales numbers. Wow, I can only imagine the level of scummy stuff they had to do to get sued by Lamborghini America. It's always buyer beware when buying from dealers especially with this caliber of car.

That way I can enjoy the toys without worry. As Luzifer mentioned, I could not imaging being in a situation where I had to give up the car and my philosophy just makes that much more unlikely.

Good point, I try not to think about the maintenance/insurance costs. I figure it's inevitable like having to buy gas.

My perspective paying cash is the way to go. It's the least expensive way to get one. The interests on a loan this big is baffling. No loan mean it's yours and no bank to take it back. Once paid no need to worry you don't owe anything to anyone.

As for maintenance or repairs my advantage is that I do it myself so I save thousands and thousands of dollars. Another thing that's in our favor a lot of parts are cross referenced to the R8. A fine example are the spark plugs, buying from Lambo was over $500-600 and I got some NGK directly from China for about $100. Air filters the same thing I saved hundreds.

What's worrisome is a blown engine or transmission or those ridiculously priced shocks that will eventually leak.

I wish I were as mechanically inclined as you. Especially with this car. No doubt it will save you thousands upon thousands. I am a little jealous but we all have different talents . I have two local Audi dealers in the area and one of them was comfortable with doing maintenance on the Huracan. They are about 60% less than my local Lambo dealership. But they did tell me they will only do maintenance that they cannot do any repairs. There are a couple local independent shops in my area. I'm not sure if I trust them. I haven't had to go that route yet.

And I couldn't agree more about avoiding a loan and paying cash. That's what I did with mine. Peace of mind is priceless.

I must confess I used my line of credit to get my 580. The loan rate was so low back then and my banks were eager to loan me something. It was around $300k plus taxes. I got the cheap loan & put all my cash towards gold. I paid it off in like 4 years with a couple of gold bars when their value doubled. Pretty much got the car almost free.

The old proverb "the grass isn't always greener at the neighbor", is quite fitting. You guys make more money so you can pay a mechanic and save yourself a lot of strain like me at the moment. "the grass is a different shade of green". I had no choice to learn how to fix my vehicles in my youth because I couldn't afford it.

I'm currently doing the oil change before storing the car next week, crawling in and out from under the quickjacks. It's a 5-6 hour process rocks dropping in your face while removing the trays, oil splashing etc. Since I thought you needed a special diagnostic tool for the transmission oil change I had it done at Audi but these numb nuts at $200/hr (which I never trust entirely) used an impact on the bolt trays making them way too tight and stripping one of them.

It would be a good idea to research a mechanic before something breaks, here %99 of them are cheaters, sloppy, cut corners and throw unneeded parts hoping it solves the issue and giving you the bill. You don't want to end up being a victim.

By doing it myself it's top shelf service! I spent another 3.5 meticulous hours this afternoon draining the last 4 plugs and filling it with fresh oil. I learned something important no one mentioned before, you have to drain the oil pump and oil cooler together otherwise the oil pump keeps a vacuum and traps almost a litre of oil. By opening both it releases the trapped oil in the pump. Also I found a safer way to reinstall the filter.

If Luzifer is making the DIY, I will put them in private section accessible to registered members only. In the old forum, they seemed to attracts tons of trolls as they were visible to public. It is clear to me dealers discourage DIY posts because they want to charge lambo taxes.

I also think now with all the active bots copying things I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to sell it as their own stuff.
