Kendo, the Japanese art of sword fighting, is often paired with Aikido, so some of the movements are similar. I think this may be the third movement in Aikido.

Today, it is just a fun martial art used to develop self-discipline and self-defense skills. You don't need katana for this and can use anything to defend yourself, like a breaker bar for lug socket.
