After living in the US for over 25 years, mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area, my friend Keith moved back to Japan; just outside of Tokyo.
Keith is a total car nut. He knows so much about cars that I am in awe of him. Keith was at the 1989 Formula 1 race at Suzuka where Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna tangled.
Just an all around great guy passionate about cars. So he is coming to the SF Bay Area and will be visiting me. He knows I have the LP640 but hasn't had a ride in it.
He doesn't know Saturday 1/31, morning when he visits we will take Uber and go pickup my car from the shop and drive home :) It sucks he moved back but that is life.

That is a kind gesture, giving him a ride in your Lambo. I am sure he will be thrilled. Drive carefully and let us know how it goes. Photos would be great if possible.

Most of my close friends are in the United States. We still keep in touch, but none of them have time to visit due to family commitments.

It must have taken a lot of adjustment to life in Japan after living in the United States for such a long time. Traveling here is fun, but living here is very different. My aunt had the same experience. Even though she is Japanese, she never fully adjusted after spending many years in the United States. She had issues with almost every neighbor because she was very direct and open minded.

I'll post photos of Keith, if he is ok, with it. I told Keith I'm not flying to Tokyo to see him.One of his daughters lives in Hawaii, and I said if he visits her I was willing to fly there. I don't like to travel. I have never been to Hawaii.. Aug 2026 Keith and hist friend will be visiting again and staying with me. We will all go to the car show in Monterey. Yeah it is hard once you have lived in the US to adjust to more conservative and traditional cultures. Many years a go I had a friend who cam from China at 17 and at 28 moved back. He worked in tech and initially was giving his opinions at work till he realized that wasn't appreciated .

He's going to love the car ride. Are you making a day out of it like cruising around, having lunch visiting places?

No, just pick up the car about 8am and drive it home. I don't take my exotics for day trips. For day trips it is my 300ZX twin-turbo or my Hyundia Sonata. The wonderful thing about the Sonata is no one gives me a 2nd look
