Washing car in the winter

Great weather today, so I took the chance to wash the car for about 2 hours and prep it tomorrow for the New Year. I do not think I will drive it during the holidays, just to avoid dealing with crazy drivers.

I enjoy washing cars almost as much as driving them.

If you like washing your car that much you can do mine any time! :) I take care and do all the nooks and crannies but I don't really enjoy it unless it's for the festival. It feels nice when it's freshly detailed though. I love the scent of Sonax alcantara cleaner, the perfume smells fresh, I foam up my carpet matt so the smell lasts a while. I will try to infuse a rag and leave it under the seat next time. I will avoid using it on the orange alcantara as it discolores it a little bit.

Lucky you that you can go out for a drive all year round! Is there that many crazy drivers out there? Crazy or they don't know how to drive properly?

Oh man, nothing beats the smell of a freshly washed car :) My nose is like a dog's. I can smell the rusty iron trapped in the dirt and it bothers me every time. Once the car is properly washed, that smell is gone. I can still notice the rust buildup from my steel rotors since I do not have ceramics, but that disappears once I wipe them down.

There are so many reckless drivers here. I mean, you get them occasionally but the chances triple during holidays. They tailgate at high speed like they own the road, then cut you off suddenly when they could have just used a blinker. I feel like people here are extremely stressed, and when that mixes with pride and stupidity, you get this kind of losers.

Just last week, a neighbor's car sped straight through my property while I was taking my Lambo out. They did not slow down at all. Maybe jealousy. Then when I was coming back home, a small pickup truck deliberately parked in front of my gate just to watch. I bolted quickly because I felt uncomfortable. I did not know the person because he or she was wearing face masks. Most likely farmer but who knows.

Did you get this kind of drivers? Especially during holidays?

I haven't noticed if holiday drivers are worse. The worst driver are immigrants from foreign countries. Going the wrong way on highways, using 2 lanes, going so slow you might crash into them or literally parking in the middle of the highway. What frustrates me are the U-turns in the middle of a busy street. Idiots that do a U-turn can be T-boned while you are the one behind them. Since the streets are narrow they have to do a 4 point turn will purposefully try to back into you while screaming. Those idiots are too lazy to go around the block to go back where they came from.

Last year some foreigner rammed my van front bumper in a roundabout. He ripped out his side mirror. He argued both lanes were entirely his. Anyway he didn't want to fill out the insurance paperwork and demanded I give him money and call a policeman. I told him to call his insurance which he probably didn't have. He didn't have a phone, I phoned the cops. When the police showed up he was angry because when there's no injury you exchange paperwork and go your separate ways. I told him since he demanded the police and I left I was fleeing the scene. He quickly asked for my info and told me to leave while he gave the guy a stern lecture while the foreigner was loudly exclaiming it was his rules that overruled everyone!

So sorry to hear about your accident.

I think those International driver licenses, where a driver's license from one country can be approved for driving in another country, should be abolished because the driving rules and driving culture are too different. Not all countries use roundabouts, and countries like India and Pakistan usually ignore lanes.

One time there was a lady who sped through the lanes like Fast and Furious, almost colliding with oncoming traffic. When I slowed down next to her, I saw that she was Hispanic looking, most likely Brazilian. Also, there is no extradition law here, so those who cause accidents usually flee to Brazil, and the Japanese have no way of arresting them.

Talking about ignoring rules, check this out. An old cesspool forum sent me emails today about you, even though I deleted my account, stopped all messages, and formally asked the admin to stop sending me any communication. I followed you on the older forum before.

You are getting all my posts to your email? I guess you have to go back and "unfollow me". Or block all content from that place in your email settings.

My account has been deleted, yet they are clearly still holding and abusing my data. I didn't get their emails until recently. That alone tells you everything. I will never go back there.

They did not delete your account, it's still there. If they did it would state"read only" but you are listed as registered.

So they undeleted my account and use it to inflate their member counts. 99% of that forum is fake.

I never seen it deactivated. I think they didn't do anything about it.

They left his insulting posts at least 6 month that I know of.

Ah well, I've marked & reported the emails as spam, so hopefully I won't be seeing them anymore.

Another photo of the washed car :) I took some time today to wax and polish so it is now shining in the garage. I'm thinking to take it out early tomorrow for short drive.

It would be so fun to have a couple of friends to go out for a drive. I'm the only one in my city who drives his car.

I think we are only two that owns a Lambo, the other guy owns a Diablo. His neighbor told me the guy washes his car several times a week. He washes it then goes a few blocks out to go at a restaurant for example then comes back and washes it again! That's completely nuts to me.

In the adjacent city there are a few Lambo owners but never had the chance to speak with them except one guy.

Talking about over washing, I went and cleaned around the garden and house with power wash too. Used tons of cleaners to get rid of black molds hiding in the shades. Took me like a total of 5 hours. Super tired but it's worth it.

Wow it looks like a large property and a large property is a lot of maintenance. Pressure washing at first is fun then after a while it isn't. The first picture is it a 3 car parking space? What are the divots for on the asphalt ramp?

The round section in second picture is it a place to put chairs and table?

What I don't like about my place I redid the back deck which I never used since I built it a decade ago. I thought I would put chairs and a table and enjoy it with my ex but it's too hot with the sun directly on it when summer comes around, then my bad neighbor moved in. I have to repaint it every year as winter and summer makes the paint peel. I'm thinking of removing it and when I redo my asphalt to put asphalt in place of the deck so I can park the Corvette out of the way the garage door.

To counter the city bylaw with a loophole, you are not allowed to put a car shelter in the summer I could install 2 gazebos together for the car.

Welcome to the forum!

Man that's a nice car, I saw a glimpse inside, it has an orange roll bar? Do you have any pictures of the interior?

Thanks! Yes, it has the OEM rollbar in orange to match my interior as well as the laser engraved package. I really like the interior even if most people find the race buckets uncomfortable (I personally don't mind them). They look amazing.

Very nice, I wish my head rest was stitched in orange like yours. First gen only had the option for leather embossment. It's not very noticeable. I wonder if a patch could be glued on without damaging the leather in the long run.

If you have to maintain the deck even though you do not use it, it may be better to convert it into something else. Extra parking space sounds like a good plan, especially since you enjoy working on cars.

I do not use asphalt because it gets too hot in summer. Instead, I use steel reinforced concrete underneath. The 1st photo shows space for 3 to 4 cars. The divots are either water meter boxes or septic tank lids. I live at the top of a mountain with no access to city drainage, so a septic tank is required. There is no odor, and a recycling service comes once a month for maintenance. The cost is quite low, around $400 per year.

The round section in the 2nd photo is for tea time :) I sit on the chair with a cup of tea but often I just stand there drinking tea as I was too lazy to bring out any chair.

My property is not large by Canadian or American standards since you have an entire continent :) but it is quite large by Japanese standards, since flat land is scarce.

Most of the upkeep cost comes from pruning the trees. I like to keep them neat year round, and good gardeners do this once a year for about $800, which is reasonable considering I have around eleven trees. I wanted to prune the forest across my property as well, but that required city permission. After dealing with clueless municipal workers, I gave up.

The rest is just cutting grass and spraying insecticides during summer, usually once every two or three weeks. It is actually a nice way to clear my mind from regular work by doing some gardening.

Welcome to the forum! Your HP looks hot! Much hotter than my 580. I noticed we have the same OEM rollbar :) Mine is white.
