It seems when other countries do reasonable things, it's OK. And yeah, that is garbage. Your medical system is paid for by you and should benefit you, I shouldn't expect to come there and get the same treatment unless I become a citizen or permanent resident and pay taxes.

It’s like doing school homework, back in the days. If we keep on procrastinating, the amount of homework got added up, and doing them all at once became overly stressful. People became careless and ignore other values just to get it done. Having said that, the size of illegal immigrants between the US and Japan now is like a million to one because the US gov didn’t do their homework for years. Now they want to get it done all at once, in a short time, which is impossible without breaking other values like human rights. I think the US gov should enforce the new policy slowly because rounding tons of people up with “force” don’t look overly good for a country built with freedom, human rights, and all those good stuff in the constitution. It’s a right thing to do but they did it wrong. My opinion, of course.

I don’t know why the Japanese gov pay half of medical bills of foreigners. My medical insurance is top notch with me only paying a third of the bill, but my monthly insurance is whooping high (like $3k). I’m pretty healthy and got common cold like once in 5 years or so. I don’t remember the last time I visited any clinics. I believe it was a Chinese tourist that spill the beans on the media by showing her outrageous medical bills and calling the Japanese gov stupid. She came to Japan with no insurance (Japan don’t check this on the border, unlike other countries, btw) to seek medical attention. I suppose maybe a discreet service to say sorry for the trouble caused during WW2? LOL, I don’t know but it’s a burden to tax payers.

Agreed that the US is doing the right thing in the wrong way regarding immigration (and a lot of other things right now). My only argument is....at least something is being done. Politicians like to talk about doing things, and have for 100+ years....but now that something is actually being done, everyone's up in arms.

Definitely an odd deal with the health insurance by you. Good to hear you've been healthy though!

Get ready for more turmoil with a 25% tariff on imported cars. The production for Temerario and Revuelto is going to take another hit.

Overall right now with the repossession craze on regular cars I think it will cause a lot more people to get their cars repoed.

Here's only one article.

The 25% tariffs on cars are what I called pansy tariffs. Singapore, Indonesia, maybe Malaysia do this and see how their economy performs. I say pansy because it shows how much someone is scared to compete. Aluminum or steel tariffs I can understand because China is dumping prices. But cars? Nah. And this is from me that like American muscle cars.

Temu wouldn’t stop spamming this forum, so now they’re paying a 125% ‘annoyance tax.’

Actions have consequences! :)

I noticed an increased number of attempts of bot scanning lately ever since the tariff wars. Mostly coming from China. They are sending out massive bots to scan US servers to obtain information that they can copy. The bots are very aggressive too like hundreds every second. If you are operating servers, I suggest blocking them all together to save time. @Rampante21

Holy molly! I wasn't expecting things to change so much. First, tariffs. Then, deportation & protests. Then, Israel - Iran war while Russia and Ukraine are still in war. One thing to complete this is for China to invade Taiwan then we get a WW3.

$800 items sent to the US were exempt of duty fees but starting August 29 all items sent to the US from Canada will have tariffs imposed on Canadians. So basically they will have to get used to it and pay just like we always did. When we buy stuff anything over $20 we get hit with massive duty fee plus brokerage fee.

Just shooting a wild number but if I were to sell on ebay an item for $100, I would probably charge an extra $60+ for the tariffs and paperwork.

The Chinese have been laughing at the tariffs since May. They simply falsify the country of origin and reroute shipments through places like Thailand or Vietnam from China. In reality, the products are made in China but passed through those ports to reduce tariffs.

Just look at Ebay, some products now miraculously shown as made in Thailand when it is clear that it is made in China.

So the three stooges were parading in China, Poland got struck, and another US activist got downed. People went nuts over budget cuts in Paris. This world is going to end one day and it's not the aliens or AI, it's our own greediness and aggression.

The tariffs are a little complex with many rules but parcels under $800 will have 34% tariff plus 10% dispatch fee from a 3rd party plus $3 fee. These tariff are to be prepaid in Canada by downloading an app and filling out a form.

Greater than $800 there's the tariff but not the 10% dispatch plus $.

Looks like they'll be paying hefty sums just like we always have over here.

In Japan it is like 10% sales tax for all goods including imports. US products have pretty much zero duties now. Lots of cheap marshmallows. McDonalds is profiting. The small Japanese is going obese with US dietary.

Local supermarkets now sell these cheap baby carrots grown in the States that look horrible and smell a bit funny because they have been in freezer for long transport. I bought it once but couldn't eat the whole thing. I think these are for livestocks.

Finally the 28 point plan :)

Give up territories, no NATO, no big army. I think Ukraine need better guarantees because the other can invade the whole country in like 1-2 days and nothing Europe or US can do anything about it. They did it before with tanks until running out of oils and supplies.

I'm just glad there are waters separating Japan from these countries. It is shocking how fast people can change into an ideology they once hated in only one generation.

I haven't paid attention to world news in months so I'm ignorant on this.

I noticed Chinese bots have been scanning this forum day & night. Maybe to press the Internet over Taiwan. I'm sure hundreds of Chinese bots would pester this forum once somebody said Taiwan is a sovereign country. Oops ;);)
