That's wild people are that excited over an 11 year old Lambo! Our Huracans are getting old now. I think a big reason your car attracts so much attention is because it's bright orange. I can tell you in my black Perf and black LP610 before it, it's much more stealth I don't get bothered near as much as you. In traffic the odd enthusiast recognizes it and will thumbs up or wave, but for the most part people don't look twice.

I know you love orange but if you don't like all the attention you may want to pivot to a less flashy color, it helps fly under the radar and may make your ownership experience more enjoyable. Personally, I would never have the confidence or patience to own a skittle color - hearing about your experiences confirms that! Bright colors scream "look at me" and attract attention from exactly the people you described haha no thank you I like to blend in as much as possible despite driving a Lambo but I know everyone is different.

The cars might be getting mechanically old but to most people they don't know that as they rarely see them anyway. They as exotics are something foreign something unique and generally speaking something nice to look at. Many people ask me what it is, they don't even know what brand even when I see them looking at the badge and I was stunned when a portion of these people don't know what Lamborghini is, to them it could be just another Corvette.

When I was researching about these cars and seeing at all those black or white ones I wasn't thrilled to pay that much for something that goes fast in a regular color, the price tag didn't make sense to me. It's sad that nowaday manufacturers produce all those boring colors, black, gray, white, it reminds me of a hoard of zombies that have been out in the elements for ages, rain sun and mud the color on the clothes have completely faded away.

When I saw borealis was like the gorgeous hot chick I can never have. I now have the next best thing. :p

Fair enough, good point. It certainly comes with the territory owning a bright color like that, so I guess you can't blame people as the color attracts them like mosquitoes to a neon bug zapper. But I mean it does make it more exciting for the rest of us to read about all these interactions haha. Have you seen the guy at the chip stand yet this season? I know he's a big fan.

There's some unwanted attention for sure like those who run up to you or those who flat drive alongside you on the highway but a lot of it is cool, like kids reactions, fast bikes and sometimes interactions with people. Like the guy who had down syndrome, that was an interesting chat. Not sure if I recounted that one here or the other place.

From the corner of my eye I think I got the middle finger yesterday from a jewish man with that strange looking hair.

Yesterday I decided to forego my reno to go out as it was going to be a nice day and going for a drive to enjoy the nice weather before it gets too hot and miserable. I went out to test the sound levels, did some shopping at a far location to enjoy the drive on the highway, then I went to the restaurant where it was too full the evening prior and continued on my drive, I ended near my place and stopped at a small shop for ice cream (I avoid the big chain place with long lineups). I was waiting for my order when two fast bikes saw the parked car turned around and admired it and proceeded to rev their bikes a little bit. They were probably wanting to see a reaction from the small crowd to see who it belonged to, I just watched the show to remain anonymous, the other people were also intrigued at the spectacle it was entertaining.

@6102Perf Why did you get rid of your LP610? This would be good for another thread but I'm always curious why guys buy a sports and sell it a few months later. When I buy something I'm usually the last owner.

Because I always wanted a Performante initially, but could never find one in the spec I wanted (black coupe with interior trim accent other than yellow). While Huracan shopping through a couple local exotic dealers (I asked them to locate a Perf for me in the above spec) they found me a different black coupe.

The owner of one of the local dealerships had a good friend with an ultra clean single owner black LP 610-4 coupe well optioned with only 6000 miles. They brought it in for me to see and it was so pristine and well serviced I couldn't not buy it.

So I enjoyed that car for about a year or so. But I still had the itch for a Performante. And I figured Perfs weren't going to go down in price so I told myself if I find one in a spec I like, I'm going for it. Lo and behold, a beautiful gloss black coupe with orange interior accents and orange calipers became available. Super clean, low miles. So I made the move to trade in my car and use the tax advantage to just pay cash on the difference to slide into the Perf.

It would've been a complete redundancy to own two similar Huracans, so I swapped out the 610 hence my username haha. But I will likely keep the Perf long term and add to it if I ever get something else - it's just too good. I own several vehicles but I've always tried to limit myself to just one supercar at a time in my bid to be somewhat financially responsible :)

Hard not to love this spec. Photos are from first day I received it when it was delivered to my detail shop:

And while we're on the topic, I think I mentioned this a while back, but my MR collection model came in. Pretty cool to find one so close to my car. It doesn't have the center lock wheels, but hey close enough!

Good thing you had a tax advantage, I guess that means you didn't pay taxes on the perf while trading in the 610? I hope the trade in value wasn't too bad. Here you get taxed every time plus the low ball trade in value. It's crazy money and unless you have FU money it's mind boggling to swap cars so soon.

Just the taxes alone on the Huracan could of afforded me a nice new vehicle.

Very cool!

I've noticed all the die casts I bought you will never have an exact copy, there's always something different, improper wheels, not the right colored wheels, brake caliper color, seat colors etc. Even my 1 : 8 I realized I didn't think to paint past the front gille in black.

I've seen the guy but he didn't say anything this time, either he didn't see it or he was busy. He probably didn't see it as I park in a spot where he doesn't have a great view. Anyway he's not very chatty.

I was fueling up when this flamboyant black dude riding a bicycle came up and said "Can I get your phone number?" Like he was taking his shot with a woman!

He proceeded to say beautiful car while chuckling and rode on.

I was cruising around on a street where it is prudent to go slow with pedestrians crossing the middle of street and kids on sidewalk going for ice cream. A cyclist appeared alongside me (see picture below), you know those who take it seriously with all the tight spandex and attire, bending his head to my open passenger window, he exclaimed loudly, "Too slow!", then sped up in front of me, pedalled some more, went down the hill and raised his arms pumping them like he had won the race!

I proceeded to go watch the sunset, a cool spot where if you are lucky you can park right by the beach. I sat nearby on a concrete block, a young couple parked beside, they were admiring the car ignoring all about the sun dropping on the horizon unlike all those who had gathered on the grass just for that. The guy was really admiring the H while his GF was leaning on their own car, I walked back and pressed the unlock button on the remote, the door handles shot out and she gasped in surprise clutching her chest. :D I smiled, they found it funny and he stated he loved it.

I'm glad I went out for a ride, it's supposed to rain for the next 7+ days with a cold cloudy break on Friday.

Look at the lifeguard's chair, the base submerged under 2-4 feet of water. This year's thaw rose the river level by many feet flooding several streets.

Glad that you enjoyed your drive! And thanks for sharing those nice photos!

Your car attracted a lot of attention, as it should, and you were wise only to engage the positives.

Yeah, it's always those spandex-tight cyclist acting up. I got a few of those here too. They like to ride at the most dangerous side of the road, risking their lives and everybody else, just for a small moment of fake glory to fuel their sad lives.

After seeing your photos, I think I need to take the car out for a drive. I haven't driven for like 3 weeks or so.

Glad you got some posititves! "The handles shot out"? Is this something the H does? I've only been within 10' or so of parked ones a few times....people get nervous if I get closer. I've never seen this phenomenon.

When you press the unlock button on the remote the running lights flash and the door handles open like this. After 10 seconds on inactivity they fold back in. Thinking about this I've never seen another car have a similar handle or open this way.

I drive the H as much as I can when it's nice out. 3 weeks without driving it would be a torture to my soul. Maybe because it has to go in storage for 4-5 months. If you can drive your car year round I can see losing some excitement.

There's a nice forest park and roads running through it, the rules are quite simple, cyclists need to be single file at the edge of the road. However these cyclists feel entitled and many are aggressive, they do not follow these rules they usually run in packs taking the entire lane forcing cars to drive in the opposite lane to avoid them, often unto oncoming traffic. When there's a lot of traffic they do it on purpose not move over to let cars pass so motorist are stuck behind them for miles at a slow pace while they are slow going up hills. Motorists get angry and when they get a chance pass them while some cyclist try sway even more.

These cyclist complain on the news the road belongs to them and want the government to shut down the park roads for bicycles. The city already close off and paralyze many many streets and roads in the summer every weekend for bicycles which causes huge car traffic jams. Many people including me avoid entire areas because if you get stuck it might take 30-45 minutes to get moving again.

It's a national holiday today, so I left my work batcave and returned to real life. The first thing I did before getting on with my day was take the car out. Before that, I did a quick inspection and checked the tires. Surprisingly, the tire pressure held just fine. I warmed up the car for a few minutes, then drove gently in Strada for the first 15 minutes. Once it was up to temperature, it was Corsa.

IMG_4496.jpeg

There were cyclists blocking the road again, but luckily it was on the opposite incline lanes. I think I got out earlier than them in the morning. By early afternoon, they reach the peak and start descending, blocking everyone again.

The problem with these cyclists is that they don't receive any driving education, since they don't need a license. Right? They should take a defensive driving course. Also, I think the spandex cyclists are the most naive because they expect the other side to behave which is how people end up in headlines. On public roads is always best to avoid and evade the negatives.

I love this picture white car, the blooming tree and black stripes, your best one yet!

What are the thick rows of bushes? They are for design and decoration?

I was heading back home tonight just before getting dark, under multiple turnpikes and overpasses, I reduced speed to half the speed limit as I know a herd of deer like to hang out in the area in the evening. Sure enough they were there I counted 4 of them literally tramping on the asphalt and on the grass. Some nights there are 10 or 15.

Only a few hundred feet ahead as roads merged I heard and saw a bright green fast bike reving just beside me. He had a camera attached to his helmet at chin level, I could see he wanted to play, they all do in this area but I'm always careful as cops are trapping daily the entire roadway. He took off and I followed but soon enough only a few seconds had passed as traffic piled, he rode alongside me again so I gave him a few revs of my own. He took off again but I was stuck behind cars. At a distance on the crest he craned his entire torso looking back to see where I was at, he saw I was far away, he turned back facing the road, he waved high in the fading light while I took an off ramp and flashed my headlights in salute.

I wish I could be as nice as you. I don't really like bikes because majority of them that I encountered here are morons. They drive too close to the car, obnoxious and above the laws. Cops don't have the nerve to pull them because some are in bosozoku group and some are their buddies. There was incident last week that a dude pulled a knife to confront the biker groups because they were bothering his sick grandma with their revving. The dude that pulled a knife is now in jail. The bikers got nothing.
