I did some decibels tests today and now I'm convinced I have a race exhaust.

Standard exhaust 88 dB
Sports exhaust 92dB
Race exhaust 102dB

Background story, the original owner had a ton of money from an inheritance from his wealthy father. The guy also raced cars and last he took every option available when he specced the car. This part is a theory of mine he might of test driven the press car that had a race exhaust on it and wanted one installed, same dealer, only a few months apart of the production build. Specs of the cars are almost identical.
At the few car shows I attended my hearing lead me to believe my car was way louder than the other Huracans and now I can confirm it.

One of the test, I tied the decibel meter on the back grill, I drove around twice but I couldn't get a reading because the meter turned off. The meter must have an automatic shut off after a few minutes. I will try it again on a short stretch.

Here are the results of the other tests I did.

Accuracy of the device :
+-1.5 dB (94db@1KHz)
+-5 dB (94db@8KHz)

Overnight cold start 116.3 dB

over an hour drive, I parked the car and tried to gently rev it to 5000 rpm and got 119.5 dB

Then I tried inside the cabin with windows down while accelerating to 70 km/hr. I was holding the meter at the window, 116.3 dB.

This test that I will have to try again, the device kept shutting off. However the instruction states you can select to save data, I'll try that next drive.

Very cool, that's a good reading! Do you have any sound clips you could post? I know the race exhaust very well it has quite a distinct tone. If you posted some clips I could tell you if it sounds like mine did.

I'm not sure a phone has a good enough mic to prevent distortion. I would have to dust off my minidisc with sound mics and custom made amplifier specifically to record loud music. I recorded many concerts with it feeling like a spy bringing it inside while security guards checked every one coming in. Once inside rearanging the device and mics so they wouldn't see them like those informants on TV show wearing a wire.

Does yours sound like this? I searched and this is the closest likeness I could find of a video accurately capturing the sound of the Huracan factory race exhaust. Mine sounded exactly like this:

Sound about right when the car has run less than 45 minutes or so. There's a huge difference when the car is cold vs when the car has run over an hour or two. The first 45 minutes it's extremely loud with lots of snap pops that are crisp like a perfect slap. When the entire car is really hot the all the above quietens down, the pops seem to be less snappy.

Check your PM. I have a video however, I think the guy records from his phone. Do not share this vid. The car was hot as we drove them all morning and a parade minutes prior. In the video it's a lot less snappy and less pops than in the morning.

Same car but it seems it was prior to the race exhaust install, however this one was poster later,

Hmm yep I'd definitely say you have the OEM race exhaust. Your car is noticeably louder than any standard exhaust Huracan I've ever heard on video. Sounds awesome, you're lucky! I miss my race exhaust. Perf is decent at full throttle high RPM runs, but still not as good as the 610 w/ race exhaust.

I think I scored big time after purchasing the car and asked the dealer to dig up the build sheet. It's fascinating all those dealers who sell used exotics have no idea about the specs, in my opinion it make a big difference in the asking price. It's also fascinating the other owners before me who had no idea of the specs and exhaust. A race exhaust must be a very rare thing in the country.

Now I'm curious to find out how much that thing cost back then.

How about you, I don't think they had a race exhaust for the perf since the pipes come out higher?

Yes, it seems to be quite a rare option especially on 2015 models as I don't think it was available right away for early cars. I remember reading the OEM race exhaust for the Huacan was a $12-15K USD option when it first came out. The factory sport exhausts are even more than that for newer Huracans.

Lambo does offer a factory titanium sport exhaust (via Akrapovic) for the Perf and Evo. You can see the prices on the Grand Touring boutique website in Canada. It's about $17K CAD for the Evo and somehow the same exhaust is $20K for the Perf...I doubt it makes much difference especially for that price. The mid-mount stock exhaust is already essentially a straight pipe.
