The saga continues, I thought I had won my paypal case with the hat but now it was refused because ebay used a loophole I had to provide a tracking number but their policy states the seller has to provide a return label at his cost.

Ebay has alway been full of loopholes and it used their conflicting rules in their favor. So now I did a chargeback on my CC and received a temporary refund which is not guaranteed, it could take days or months! The CC has to get answers from the seller why he didn't provide a return label. I hope I win this time.

If the transaction amount is small, there is still a decent chance of getting your money back. But for higher value items (like > $1k), I would never rely on the credit card company again. I learned the hard way that they can be completely powerless when the seller and their merchant processor work together and conspire to protect themselves. They simply create or modify terms after the sale and use that to reject the chargeback.

I will never again prepay large amounts for overseas purchases. Especially from countries that are known for high levels of online fraud like India, Pakistan, Myanmar, Nigeria, China. Once the money is gone, it is almost impossible to recover.

How about Italy, is it safe? I just bought a watch directly from Tonino a day ago so that should be okay. ;)

Amazon for me is the safest. Ebay has always been a hit or miss. A CC payment through paypal is not a customer satisfaction guarantee.

I bought a small wallet from Tonino before so they should be safe :) I think reputations are important these days, but then all those good online reviews are not always true. In fact, most of them are fabricated.

Amazon is super tough on the seller and whatever buyer claims usually end up with returns or refunds. And for items that sell very well, good chance Amazon will take over with its own competing brands.

Very nice. Now you need Tonino's perfume. I've seen them a couple times locally but I didn't buy it as there is no demo to smell it.
I have actually had it - but that was probably some 10 years ago. It was ok, but also a bit blend
